Investigation of the transmission characteristics and transient attenuation of coupled delay systems
Abstract
An experimental study of the frequency dependences of the transmission coefficient and transient-attenuation coefficient of coupled delay systems (CDS) was conducted for different gaps between systems. It is shown that an optimal gap exists for which the energy transfer from the main delay system (MDS) to the additional delay system (ADS) is most pronounced. For ring-rod and modified comb systems, this gap amounted to 4-5 mm. In the case of opposite-wave propagation in the CDS, it is noted that good matching between the ADS and the load in relation to the transfer of microwave energy to the CDS is important for attenuation in the MDS.
