Characteristics of ferroelectric microwave phase-shifters
Abstract
An experimental determination was made of the characteristics of ferroelectric microwave phase-shifters based on (Ba, Sr) TiO3 films. Theoretical and experimental voltage dependences of phase are presented for frequencies of 0.4, 1, 1.5, and 2.5 GHz; and the Q of the best specimens of phase shifters based on (Ba/0.55/Sr/0.45/)TiO3 films amounts to 100 deg/dB at frequencies ranging from 100 MHz to 3 GHz. Compared with semiconductor and ferrite phase-shifters, the ferroelectric phase-shifters are characterized by high speed, high reliability, radiation resistance, completely integrated technology, and a high level of permissible microwave power.
