Regular binary sequences with low losses due to sidelobe suppression
Abstract
A completely regular coding rule is found for periodic signals with binary phase modulation. This rule dispenses with exhaustive search and provides for small energy losses in the sidelobe-suppression filter as well as an extreme filter simplicity. The rule is based on the mapping of q-ary M-sequences on a binary alphabet according to a law defined by a certain difference manifold. The rule is used to identify a number of new families of signals, including those with extremely small losses.
