Diffraction model of a microwave dielectric ring resonator for calculating resonant frequencies of the H(0-n-delta) and E(0-n-delta) modes
Abstract
The method of partial regions is used to obtain an approximate solution to the electrodynamic boundary value problem concerning symmetric E and H modes of microwave dielectric ring resonators. Allowance is made for the diffraction of fields of resonator-type oscillations in the 'one-wave' approximation on lateral boundary surfaces of the resonator. Numerical results are presented, and an investigation is made of the convergence of the succession of approximate solutions to the characteristic equations for the symmetric H(0-1-delta) and H(0-1-delta) modes. The effect of a metallic rod filling the inner cavity on the resonant frequencies of the resonator is investigated.
