Method of partial regions for the simulation and design of bulk microwave integrated circuits
Abstract
An electrodynamic analysis of elements of bulk microwave integrated circuits is performed using the method of partial regions. A diffraction approach is developed to the calculation of the natural modes of multilayer strip-slot lines and the S-matrices of arbitrary junctions of lines. An analysis of regular lines (an asymmetric slot line and a multiwire microstrip line) and an analysis of diffraction by junctions of heterogeneous lines are considered as illustrations of algorithm application. Test problems show the high efficiency of the proposed algorithms.
