Investigation of a self-pumped Gunn-diode asynchronous detector
Abstract
The paper presents an experimental study of a Gunn-diode asynchronous detector with self-pumping at harmonics of the fundamental oscillation frequency of the system. It is shown that this device can be used in cases when it is important to obtain an output signal whose level is proportional to the input microwave power in a wide frequency range in the case of amplitude modulation of the input signal by pulses of arbitrary shape. It is noted that this device can be utilized as a sensitive indicator of pulsed microwave power in the short-wave part of the millimeter-wave range. Such devices are characterized by high energy stability and simplicity of tuning in a wide range of operating frequencies.
