Comparison of quasi-stationary and dynamic methods for the analysis of nonlinear distortions in amplifiers
Abstract
The effect of a biharmonic signal on a transistor power amplifier is evaluated with the aim of determining the output combinational spectrum. Numerical analysis is carried out by two methods: by using characteristics in the single-frequency regime and by solving a differential equation. A good agreement betwen calculation results confirms the validity of the quasi-stationary method for a specific type of nonlinearity.
