Single-channel and two-channel detection of pulsed processes
Abstract
The efficiencies of single-channel and two-channel detectors of chaotic pulsed processes on a background of Gaussian noise are compared with reference to radar-detection problems. Specifically, attention is given to the detection of stochastic pulses of unknown intensity and relative duration with a Rayleigh amplitude distribution on a background of stationary Gaussian noise of unknown intensity. It is shown that the single-channel detector is superior in the case of a high value of relative pulse duration.
