Noise coefficient of an FET power amplifier
Abstract
The noise coefficient of an FET power amplifier is analyzed as a function of amplifier operating mode, transistor parameters, input resistance of the oscillator, operating frequency, and misalignment with the frequency of the amplified signal. The noise coefficient of a multistage amplifier is shown to be determined not only by the noise and gain coefficients of the signal of each cascade, but also by the relationship between the gain coefficients of noise and signal in each stage, starting with the second. Expressions are obtained for the noise coefficient and SNR at the amplifier input.
