Consideration of edge effects in calculations of characteristic parameters of shielded slot lines
The existing functions which describe shielded slot line parameters and take into account the behavior of the electromagnetic field on the edge are modified in order to lift the restriction of the 1/L ratio to values of much less than 1. The modification involves an introduction of an elastostatic function, obtained previously for diffraction on a waveguide aperture, as a weight function. The proposed functions simplify the major steps of the numerical implementation of the Galerkin method and make it possible to execute calculations for a given accuracy using fewer base functions.
