Fabry-Perot resonators with slot coupling elements
Abstract
The advantages of coupling two Fabry-Perot resonators by a slot element are examined in order to assess spectrum spreading in the microwave region. It is found that in the absence of slot emission the energy factor of the resonator is of purely ohmic nature and is of the order of 10,000, whereas untuned resonators with a coupling slot have an energy factor of 200 for similar parameters. Finally, the frequency band in which the spreading can be effected can be widened by introducing several coupling slots of different lengths.
