Coupled-resonator gyrotrons with mode conversion
Abstract
The starting and stationary oscillation regimes of coupled resonator gyrotrons with mode conversion are studied theoretically and experimentally. The devices are treated as electrodynamic systems and their technical characteristics are described. It is found through a series of calculations that it is possible to obtain significant mode selection over the transverse index. In experiments with two types of mode-converting gyrotrons, the theoretical calculations of the efficiency of the devices agreed well with experimental results.
