Radiation of a plane logarithmic spiral on a dielectric layer with losses
Abstract
The method of partial regions is used to analyze the radiation of a plane logarithmic spiral on an infinite dielectric layer with arbitrary values of layer thickness and permittivity. It is shown that this radiating system is frequency-dependent with respect to both directional and polarization characteristics. It is also noted that the limits of the applicability of such antennas in the high-frequency part of the microwave range is determined more by fabrication factors than by losses in the substrate.
