Numerical study of diffraction models of microwave integrated circuits
Abstract
Mathematical diffraction models for irregular elements of microwave integrated circuits are considered for two types of stripline stubs on a 'suspended' substrate: an asymmetric line with a wire width of 3 mm and a symmetric line with a wire width of 6 mm. The internal convergence of integral wave impedances is derived for both lines at 10 GHz, and the propagation constants of the principal mode are determined for the two lines. The general conclusion is that, in Trefftz bases, the higher harmonics have only a slight effect on the principal-mode characteristics.
