Characteristics of electromagnetic-wave diffraction in partially filled waveguides with a complex spectrum
Abstract
Numerical results are presented concerning the diffraction of an H11 wave by the junction of a homogeneously filled circular waveguide with a screened dielectric waveguide. It is shown that at complex-wave frequencies the electromagnetic field in the dielectric waveguide (almost completely determined by these waves) has features in common with the field of standing and beyond-cutoff waves. It is suggested that complex waves can be used for the purpose of energy transmission.
