Investigation of the starting of a magnetron with a cold secondary-emission cathode at the trailing edge of the voltage pulse
Abstract
An experimental study of the starting of a magnetron at the trailing edge of the voltage pulse is carried out; studies were made of magnetrons consisting of different materials with a resonator system at the anode and without a resonator system. The experimental data are examined in the light of Cherenschikov's (1973) theory. A starting regime at the trailing edge of the voltage pulse is achieved which is capable of replacing starting with a heated cathode. Nominal power is generated under this starting condition.
