Spatial statistics of a partially coherent wave in a randomly irregular cubic medium
Abstract
The spatial statistics of a partially coherent optical wave in a cubic randomly irregular medium is analyzed by the perturbation method with reference to the operation of a laser radar system. Solutions are obtained to the equations for the spatial-coherence function of an optical wave in a nonlinear irregular medium; and an investigation is made of variations of the variance of field fluctuations, and of amplitude and phase, as well as of the behavior of the spatial-correlation radius for various perturbations of incident radiation.
