Stimulated emission in the case of a limited high-current electron beam under conditions of magnetostatic pumping in a longitudinal magnetic field
Abstract
The investigation of the stimulated emission in the case of a relativistic electron beam in a transverse magnetic field, employed for pumping, and a longitudinal focussing magnetic field is considered. It is found that effective emission occurs under resonance conditions regarding the wave involved in pumping and cyclotron frequency of the electron beam in the focussing field. The present study shows that effective emission can proceed not only in the case of the considered resonance, but also under conditions of a cyclotron resonance with a wave satisfying certain conditions. Attention is given to basic equations, details regarding the considered resonance relations, and the conclusions obtained on the basis of the analysis.
