Estimation of the efficiency of the integration of the products of pulses of a coherent packet of signals
Abstract
An analysis is made of the characteristics of the detection of a packet of pulses on a background of white (delta-correlated) noise during the integration of pulse products in a radar receiver. Coherent and incoherent integration techniques are compared, and it is shown that the coherent technique results in a smaller energy loss than the incoherent technique. Another advantage of the coherent technique is the possibility of measuring the rate of motion.
