Features of radio-signal detection using the acoustoelectric effect
Abstract
A comprehensive analysis is made of the use of the acoustoelectronic (AE) effect for the demodulation of AM and FM radio signals and for synchronous detection. Emphasis is placed on the detection of surface acoustic waves in a layered piezodielectric-semiconductor film. The theory is experimentally verified for the case of an LiNbO3-CdSe structure, and the possibility of using the AE effect to construct a radio-signal detector is demonstrated.
