Experimental study of a receiver of optical radiation modulated at a frequency of 10 GHz based on frequency conversion in a photomultiplier
Abstract
The principal characteristics of a system for the reception of optical radiation modulated at a frequency of 10 GHz are examined. The reception is effected on the basis of frequency conversion in a photomultiplier with an additional grid situated near the photocathode. A block diagram is presented, and the dependence of the signal on the oscillator power is studied. The system under consideration is utilized in a rangefinder system with phase detection of the signal in the photodetector.
