Wave attenuation in an electron flux near the potential barrier of a space charge
Abstract
The conditions of the propagation of waves in an electron flux in the region of the potential barrier of a space charge formed during the passage of the flux across the electrode gap are discussed. By calculating the space charge distribution density for a Maxwellian distribution of the initial thermal velocities of the electrons, the conditions of the reflection and full absorption of the waves are determined. The results obtained are compared with experimental data.
