Quantum properties of parametric microwave amplifiers
Abstract
The effect of nonzero losses and temperature on the quantum properties of parametric microwave amplifiers is analyzed theoretically. It is shown that the utilization of systems consisting of a large number of one-junction SQUIDs may make it possible to achieve in degenerate centimeter-wave amplifiers a level of intrinsic noise that is significantly below the quantum limit.
