Numerical simulation of self-oscillations in an external-feedback system comprising an electron beam and a forward electromagnetic wave
Abstract
A mathematical model of a traveling wave tube with external feedback is developed. The application of nonstationary nonlinear theory makes possible a computer simulation of phenomena in the dynamic system comprising an electron beam and the traveling wave without limitations on the oscillation spectral width. The stabilization of the self-oscillations is investigated, and it is shown that, depending on the system parameters, the oscillations can be polyharmonic as well as noise-like.
