Near field of longitudinal antennas
Abstract
The structure of the near and far fields of longitudinal antennas is analyzed. It is shown that the Fraunhofer zone of the antenna is at a distance of two-to-three antenna lengths from the antenna, and that this zone does not depend on the radiation wavelength. As an illustration, calculations are presented for an antenna with a dimension of 2a = 6lambda with a continuous distribution of sources.
