Electrodynamic calculation of the parameters of the diaphragm junction of circular waveguides
Abstract
The general case of the incidence of asymmetric E(nu-p) and H(nu-p) waves on the diaphragm junction of two circular waveguides is analyzed, assuming that the metallic walls of the waveguides are ideally conducting. The calculation is performed on the basis of the method of partial regions with allowance for the behavior of the field near the edge. Computer calculations are presented for the diffraction of azimuthally symmetric waves. It is shown that, in the case of E(01) wave diffraction, most of the incident wave energy is transferred to the reflected wave. In the case of H(01) wave diffraction, the maximum of transmitted energy amounts to 20 percent of the incident wave energy.
