The efficiency of a nonequilibrium two-phase thermal screen on an adiabatic wall
Abstract
The injection of a gas-vapor-liquid coolant evaporating in the boundary layer of an incoming flow of a hot gas makes it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of the thermal protection of an adiabatic wall in comparison with the injection of a single-phase gaseous coolant. Equations are obtained here for calculating the efficiency of the thermal protection of an adiabatic wall in the case of a nonequilibrium flow of a gas-vapor-liquid coolant in the boundary layer. The effect of the flow nonequilibrium on the efficiency of protection is also analyzed.
