Calculation of optimum injection distribution for a cooled turbine profile
Abstract
Continuous (porous) surface injection makes it possible to achieve high cooling efficiency. The objective of the study reported here is to find a distribution of continuous surface injection that would ensure uniform cooling of the surface of a turbine profile. The problem is solved by analyzing the boundary layer formed at the profile surface during injection. The analysis is based on a method which employs full transport coefficient to calculate boundary layers with laminar, transition, and turbulent zones. The results obtained are compared with experimental data.
