The determination of the coefficients of hydraulic losses along the cooling tract of a perforated turbine blade
Abstract
The present investigation is concerned with an experimental determination of pressure-related losses in a typical perforated turbine blade. The elements of the channels used for the cooling of the blade are shown together with values for the dimensional relations. Information regarding the distribution of relative drops in pressure is presented with the aid of graphs, while the values of the loss factors for the various sections of the cooling tract are listed in a table. It is found that for a wide range of blade operation conditions the loss factors do not depend on the Reynolds number.
