Structure of meteor streams. III. The Quadrantids.
Abstract
Results of various studies of the Quadrantids are summarized with particular emphasis on Khar'kov observations during 1976-1977. The limiting stellar magnitude of the detected meteors was 12-14m. The Quadrantids are found to have a less regular structure than the Geminids; their activity varies significantly from year to year. The flux density of meteors with masses not less than 0.001 g is 0.07-0.15/sq km in the densest part of the shower. The spatial density of meteors in the stream is about two orders of magnitude less than that of sporadic meteors.
