Physics education in China: some basic facts

To many teachers and educationalists China is still a mystery, and the Chinese education system can still only be learned about secondhand, by reading. However on the basis of visits to different Chinese educational institutions and constant connections with physics educationalists there,the author tries to present a concise picture of physics teaching in China. Whilst he does not attempt an in-depth analysis he hopes to construct a reliable framework for further investigations.
