CORONA: a soft X-ray all sky survey of the hot interstellar medium with high spectral and good spatial resolution.
Abstract
CORONA is intended as a specialized mission to carry out a high resolution study of the hot (≡106K) component of the interstellar medium in the energy ranges 0.12 - 0.28 keV and 0.35 - 1 keV and to provide extensive mapping at a resolution of 1° of the galactic distribution of this gas. CORONA is proposed by six European laboratories to ESA as a passenger for one of its future mission.
