A saddle-point solution in the Weinberg-Salam theory
Abstract
We give a close approximation to a static, but unstable, solution of the classical field equations of the Weinberg-Salam theory, where the weak mixing angle Θw is considered to be small. Its energy increases from ~8 TeV to ~14 TeV as the Higgs coupling λ runs from 0 to ∞. Furthermore, it has a large magnetic dipole moment and its baryonic (and leptonic) charge is 1/2 . The possible physical relevance of this solution is discussed.
