On the relevance of long-distance contributions to CP violation in the K0 system
Abstract
The sensitivity of the CP violating parameter ɛ to long-distance contributions to the K0K0 mass matrix is estimated on general grounds. Improving the accuracy in the measurement of ɛ'/ɛ by an order of magnitude will unambiguously decide whether the standard model can account for CP violation for mt <~ 50 GeV.
