Monte Carlo renormalization group trajectories in lattice gauge theories
Abstract
A Monte Carlo method for evaluating block renormalized coupling constants in a lattice gauge theory is formulated. Additionally a new blocking procedure such that each site link enters into exactly one block link is described. As a test problem the Ising gauge system in three dimensions is considered. The trajectory of the plaquette coupling is calculated and the fixed point and critical exponent are determined. The value for the critical exponent is consistent with standard results.
