Masses in the Weinberg-Salam Model.
Abstract
This thesis is a detailed discussion of the currently existing limits on the masses of Higgs scalars and fermions in the Weinberg-Salam model. The spontaneous breaking of the gauge symmetry of the model generates arbitrary masses for Higgs scalars and fermions, which for the known fermions have to be set to their experimentally known values. In this thesis we discuss in detail both the theoretical and experimental constraints on these otherwise arbitrary masses.
