Calculation of the pressure drop of two-phase flows using the flow model of Witte in horizontal and vertical pipes
Abstract
A method for the calculation of the pressure drop in water-vapor and fluid-gas mixtures was developed starting from the flow model of Witte. This model only allows the result to be obtained using an extensive iteration process. Mathematical approximation functions were developed which, via an extensive parameter variation, deduce an approximation with which the coefficient of friction can be calculated directly from the given parameters.
