Possible equilibrium of a supersaturated vapor and a liquid in an electromagnetic field
Abstract
The homogeneous condensation of a vapor in an electromagnetic wave is investigated analytically. It is shown that a second critical dimension arises and sets a limit on the growth of droplets; an equilibrium of the supersaturated vapor in the liquid becomes possible. An experiment is proposed which makes it possible to observe an equilibrium of a supersaturated vapor with an essentially monodisperse system of droplets, whose size can be controlled by varying the wave intensity.
