Shock-wave structure in a binary mixture of viscous gases
Abstract
Asymptotic solutions to the problem of shock-wave structure in a binary mixture of viscous gases are obtained in the framework of the Navier-Stokes approximation under the assumption that each component is characterized by its own velocity and temperature. Three cases are considered: (1) strong interaction according to velocities, (2) intense heat transfer between components, and (3) low concentration of one of the mixture components without strong interaction according to velocities or temperatures. The limit behavior of the unknown functions as the viscosity coefficients tend to zero is examined.
