Laminar mixed convection near a vertical cylinder with a constant surface temperature
Abstract
Mixed convection on a vertical cylinder has been investigated numerically using the approach proposed by Patankar and Spalding (1971). A computational algorithm based on the method of progressive integration has been implemented in software written in FORTRAN. Computations are presented for Pr = 0.7. The results obtained for forced convection and for conditions close to natural convection are found to be in good agreement with data in the literature.
