A change in the flow conditions of a plane jet with a stepped velocity profile
Abstract
A study is made of the stability and branching behavior of secondary flow regimes in a plane submerged jet with a stepped velocity profile, the piecewise constant nature of the profile making it possible to use the analytical approach. The excitation conditions are determined, and the structure of the secondary flow regime is calculated. The results obtained are compared with numerical calculations of the stability of a plane jet with a smoothed-over stepped profile.
