Calculation of thermal damage probability of the active elements of pulsed lasers
Abstract
A methodological approach to a calculation of the thermal damage probability of active elements is examined. The distribution law of active-element strength is established on the basis of the results of experimental measurements. Expressions are given that characterize the stress in an element as a function of the temperature field and the laser operating conditions. Practical recommendations are given with regard to estimating the values of the parameters used.
