Heat and mass transfer and waves in gas-liquid systems
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results are presented concerning such classical domains of the mechanics of heterogeneous systems as heat transfer during boiling and condensation, the hydraulics of two-phase flows in various regimes, critical boiling conditions and hydrodynamic stability, the behavior of single bubbles and drops, the flow of thin films, and heat transfer and absorption in bubbles and films. Also presented are results concerning acoustics and nonlinear wave dynamics in bubble systems, wave propagation in a vapor-liquid bubble medium, and wave formation on film surfaces. Particular emphasis is placed on the experimental study of the turbulence characteristics of gas-liquid flows.
