mm-wave oversized cavity slotted array
Abstract
A 4.5 x 4.5 deg beamwidth slot array antenna for 30 GHz is described, using a large flat cavity with a slot array in one surface. The resonator is excited by a waveguide slot array line-source launching a Te(10) wave into the slotted resonator. The array is designed for maximum directivity and produces 30 dBi gain, which corresponds to an aperture efficiency of 65 percent. Moding has not been found a problem if a flat surface of the slotted plate is maintained.
