Magnetooptics of gas lasers
Abstract
The characteristics and stability of various operating modes of gas lasers with an active (or absorbing) medium in a magnetic field are examined in the light of the results of recent studies. Particular attention is given to the possibility of using a magnetic field to control the parameters of laser emission. Resonance phase-polarization methods of frequency selection based on anisotropy induced by an amplifying or an absorbing medium are discussed in relation to high-resolution nonlinear laser spectroscopy.
