Meteor matter inflow during the activity epoch of the Geminid stream.
Abstract
The body mass of material deposited in the upper atmosphere by the Geminid meteor shower was calculated for a selected area at an altitude of 93.5 km. The total influx of Geminid material was 73.5 t. The incident influx density for the period of maximum shower activity was found to be comparable to the incident influx density of the sporadic background. The influx data are summarized in a table.
