Optoelectronic transducers based on controlled lightguide structures
Abstract
The operation and design of controlled lightguide structures for use in optoelectronic transducers are examined, with attention given to the optical scheme of the sensor element; a classification of transducers based on lightguide structures; light transmission in a CLS given a wide radiation pattern; and feedback pheomena. Controlled lightguide structures in optoelectronic and fiber-optic tranducers are discussed, and a number of applications are considered, including noncontact optoelectronic switches; transducers of low-power electric signals; magnetic-field transducers; and sensors of displacement, pressure, and force.
