Microwave resonators and wave-slowing resonator systems: Numerical methods of analysis and design
Abstract
An attempt is made to summarize from a unified standpoint the available information on the numerical analysis and design of resonator electrodynamic systems. A classification of electrodynamic systems is presented, and their principal characteristics and parameters are discussed with emphasis on the factors determining the efficiency of the interaction between the electromagnetic field of the system and a flux of charged particles. The existing numerical methods for solving problems in electrodynamics are then examined, with attention given to both two- and three-dimensional problems. Finally, problems related to the computer-aided design of the electrodynamic systems of electronic devices are discussed.
