Laser radar
Abstract
The general theory of laser tracking and ranging and the principles governing the design of laser radar systems are examined. Major problems related to optimum reception of laser radar signals and parameter measurement are analyzed from the standpoint of the theory of statistical solutions. Attention is given to methods for processing trajectory measurements and various methods for obtaining noncoordinate information, including holographic, interferometric, and adaptive techniques. The principles of the development of experimental laser radar systems are illustrated by examples.
