Radiative heat transfer in high-temperature gases - Handbook
Abstract
The principal problems in physics, gas dynamics, and applied fields where radiative heat transfer is of major importance are reviewed, and the existing methods for calculating radiative transfer in heated gases are examined. Particular attention is given to the asymptotic integral method of partial characteristics which makes it possible to achieve substantial savings in computer time by separately calculating the gasdynamic and radiation characteristics. The method of effective populations, developed for calculating the spectral characteristics of atomic plasmas with high densities of the charged particles, is also discussed.
